Mercury Landing

Mercury Landing

Hey everyone!  Unfortunately, after 4 years of shows in New York and beyond, Mercury Landing has decided to take a hiatus, a short respite if you will.  This comes at an interesting point in each of our lives, and we’re taking some time apart so that, hopefully, the reunion will spur some true growth.  We’ve felt stagnant on many levels of this band, and sometimes time apart can really help.

We all are individually pursuing other avenues of art and music, which you can still experience.

Rich Brownstein plays keys for Caitlin Krisko and the Broadcast (you can check them out at www.caitlinkrisko.com).

Dan Haller plays bass and sings in Love and Logic (you can check them out at www.loveandlogicrock.com).

Nate Rosler does freelance graphic design and you can contact him at  Roslerdesign@gmail.com.

And I have been crafting a storybook rock opera for the better part of 2009, which I would love to share with you Friday and Saturday 12/4 & 12/5 at the Bowery Poetry Club.  This is my first attempt at a solo project, and I’ve brought in a close artist friend, Chris Hingel, to illustrate a storybook accompanying the 13-song performance.  You can learn more about it and support through www.thegreenemerald.com.

Mercury Landing hopes to get back together in 2010, so keep in touch, and send your love.  Rock n Roll.

Corey J.

FROM RELIX.com:

"Mercury Landing is a rising act in New York’s crowded music beat, and the 5-piece band carves its unique image on a competitive stage by crafting a sound that speaks to a professional attitude and technical and stylistic mastery. Since forming in 2005 the band has exploded on the metropolitan scene, delivering a genre-conquering mesh of styles stemming from a whole spectrum of musical influences.

While there's no doubt that this is a talented group of dedicated professionals, Mercury Landing is at heart a group of friends doing what they love, and as a result you may catch them covering a funky Talking Heads tune onstage or just letting loose and busting out the theme to Tetris midset. Whatever the formula is, it's working for these guys, and consequently they'll likely be taking off from planet N.Y. in the near future, and touching down at a venue near you."
